Founded in 1878 by W.C. and B.H. Essmueller, the company manufactured equipment primarily for flour mills in the Missouri region. The Essmueller family continued its guidance until 1965 when the last member, Arthur F. Essmueller, retired. Robert H. McLean, then president, and three other officers purchased the company from the family and a new legacy began.
The Essmueller Company evolved to meet changing market demands. Growth spurred the opening of facilities in St. Louis and Arkansas, eventually consolidating operations into its current 150,000-square-foot modern manufacturing facility in Laurel, Mississippi.
For more than a hundred and forty years, The Essmueller Company has prioritized two things: uncompromising quality and customer satisfaction. This pinpoint focus propelled The Essmueller Company as a globally recognized leader in the material handling equipment industry. Our customers operate in every U.S. state and in dozens of international locations.
Today, Essmueller is led by Matt and Chris McLean, the grandsons of Robert H. McLean. The company carries on the vision and commitment to quality built by the family over decades of stewardship. A dedicated team of professionals ensures the legacy of the company remains tied to unparalleled quality.
